Licencing & Insurance

Are these MiniTrucks eligible for insurance and licencing for the road?

Yes they are in Canada, but not in the USA. 


How much does insurance cost?

Insurance is cheap like an old half-ton. Check with your local insurance provider. They most likely will need to contact us for more information on these mini trucks. 


I am an American...

The EPA has banned all importing of these mini trucks to the US as of December 2008. So unfortunately we cannot export these trucks. BUT,  If you own a resort or cabin in Canada- most likely in North-western Ontario where we are located - you can purchase these for work or play and leave it in Canada.  


If they are not allowed to be licenced in the States, can I drive my minitruck in the States?

We've travelled into International Falls MN with a few and they've let us through on personal shopping visits.  Americans would love to put these on the road, but their federal laws will not allow it.


Licencing Options

  Doing a Motor Vehicle Safety Check for an Ontario highway plate, does cost more and requires considerable paper work and all, but is preferred by most.

 As an ATV, they may still be driven on back roads and into some small villages without hassle it seems ( check local regulations.)

 As a Farm Implement, they would need an implement sign to use on the road between farms. This option is the cheapest if you are looking for a bargain !
